News Corp.’s $30 million digital daily newspaper experiment is about to come to fruition, and the media giant has lined up one of the world’s greatest salesmen to deliver the news.
According to Yahoo, News Corp. chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch will appear with Apple CEO Steve Jobs next week to launch The Daily, the company’s much-anticipated iPad news publication.
The two are scheduled to unveil The Daily at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art on Jan. 19—though that date could change, according to Yahoo.
The Daily has been the subject of tremendous media hype and scrutiny over the past several months. Despite the big budget for the iPad title, Murdoch’s rocky history with digital media has given many in the industry pause.
Murdoch is said to be spending $30 million on the launch, and has lined up a slew of well known journalists for the project.
