Corey Lewandowski, last seen as Donald Trump‘s campaign manager, lands a political commentator gig at CNN. “I’m a guy who calls balls and strikes. I’m going to tell it like it is… There is nothing that’s going to stop me from telling the truth, in my opinion,” he said. The move shocked many in the media world, considering Lewandowski’s adversarial relationship with the press, but perhaps it shouldn’t have been a surprise. Go ahead and accuse me of false equivalence, but broadcast journalism already teems with fixers like Lewandowski.”…

The Hill hires Jim Roberts to revamp the opinion section. “Jim has a proven ability to manage expansion into new verticals and guide the development of platforms and content that keep readers engaged,” said editor in chief Bob Cusack in a statement. Roberts was most recently executive editor at Mashable and previously worked at Reuters and The New York Times… Chris Lehmann jumps from senior editor to editor in chief at The Baffler. John Summers, who told the publication’s board that he wanted to leave last fall, says goodbye so he can spend more time with his family. Lehmann previously worked at Bookforum and Yahoo… Fox Business Network senior correspondent Charles Gasparino lands a personal finance column in Men’s Fitness. He says he works out a lot and is “into the fitness lifestyle,” so he’s definitely qualified…

The Associated Press moves Ian Phillips from Middle East news director to vice president for international news. In his new job, he’ll “be responsible for all of AP’s journalists in bureaus outside the United States – editors, reporters, photographers and video journalists,” according to a memo from svp and executive editor Kathleen Carroll… The Wall Street Journal digital editor Lisa Fleisher moves to Bloomberg, where she’ll edit and write features for Bloomberg.com. Fleisher will remain in London… The New York Post loses associate editor Fahima Haque, who’s joining Guardian US. Meanwhile, Paul Owen gets promoted to deputy head of news, Raya Jalabi to to news editor, and Mark Oliver is coming back to New York as special projects editor…. Charlie Wilkie leaves Guardian News, where he had been svp of branded content division Guardian Labs, for Upworthy. He’ll be vice president of sales…
