Fahrenheit 451 Wisecracks Burning Up the Internet
On Twitter this morning, the New York Post wondered about “the burning point of a Kindle.” The folks at Apple’s iBookstore in Cupertino meanwhile questioned whether the future-arrived date of November 29, 2011 is the day they can legitimately burn their hard copy version of Fahrenheit 451.
All because 91-year-old author Ray Bradbury has finally relented and allowed Simon & Schuster to publish an e-book version of his classic 1953 tome. Per the AP wire story:
In a statement released Tuesday, Simon & Schuster publisher Jonathan Karp said the new e-book was “a rare and wonderful opportunity to continue our relationship with this beloved and canonical author and to bring his works to new a generation of readers and in new formats.”
