JHU SAIS to Host Book Launch Event With
Washington Post Journalist Rajiv Chandrasekaran
The Johns Hopkins University Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) will host a book launch event of Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq’s Green Zone by Rajiv Chandrasekaran, an assistant managing editor at The Washington Post, on Wednesday, September 20 at 5 p.m.

Chandrasekaran, a former journalist-in-residence at the SAIS International Reporting Project, will discuss his experiences in Iraq’s Green Zone as chronicled in his new book published by Knopf this month. He spent 18 months in Iraq as the Post’s Baghdad bureau chief, where he was responsible for covering the American occupation in Iraq and supervising the newspaper’s correspondents.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Kenney Auditorium of the school’s Nitze Building, located at 1740 Massachusetts Ave., N.W., in Washington, D.C. Members of the public should RSVP to the International Reporting Project at email@example.com or 202.663.7726.
