Quote of Note | Marcel Wanders

marcel.jpg“I was trained as a product designer. We work in a conceptual way. Which means we have one great idea, follow it very straightforwardly, and then get clear, sharp, beautiful objects. In interior design, as I’ve found out, if you follow this kind of path, you create objects which are very dead and very boring. Interior design needs a thousand ideas. It’s more like a composition of all kinds of ideas, and there are all kinds of references.”

Marcel Wanders, who recently designed the interiors of the Kameha Grand hotel in Bonn, Germany
