Nat Ives over at AdAge scored the scoop that Hearst’s Quick & Simple is no more, a victim of rising paper prices. The weekly magazine debuted almost three years ago. Ad pages were up 56 percent in the first half of this year to 151.3, but the magazine published an additional issue.
The decision comes two weeks after Hearst CEO Victor Ganzi stepped down due to pressure from the Hearst family trust. Interim CEO Frank Bennack is expected to evaluate all of the company’s properties in coming weeks.
The publication will continue online at <a href="http://QuickandSimple.comQuickandSimple.com because servers are much, much cheaper than paper.
