It’s no secret that President Barack Obama’s team knows what it’s doing when it comes to social media. Today, the president in an address from The White House urged the public to tweet using hashtag #MY2K telling their congressional representatives not to raise taxes on the middle class.

It’s no secret that President Barack Obama’s team knows what it’s doing when it comes to social media. Today, the president in an address from The White House urged the public to tweet using hashtag #MY2K telling their congressional representatives not to raise taxes on the middle class.

If Congress doesn’t renew the George W. Bush-era tax cuts, taxes for middle-class families would go up by $2,200 (for a family of four) in 2013. A number of budget cuts and tax hikes, including this one, will automatically take effect if a deal isn’t reached in time, sending the United States over the so-called “fiscal cliff.”
