President Obama Pens Huff Post Op-Ed on Family-Friendly Workplace Policies

Working_families_summitCorresponding with today’s first ever White House Summit on Working FamiliesPresident Barack Obama penned “Family-Friendly Workplace Policies Are Not Frills — They’re Basic Needs” for The Huffington Post on the challenges of working parents and how the country can properly address them.

“Family leave, childcare, flexibility and a decent wage aren’t frills,” writes Obama. “They’re basic needs. They shouldn’t be bonuses — they should be the bottom line.”

The all day event at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Woodley Park is sponsored by the Center for American Progress, The White House, and the U.S.
