Predictions

You know that you simply can’t wait for the “predictions” “straight out of the notebooks of these top reporters” on Sunday’s Chris Matthews Show. So we’ll bring them to you early:

    Katty Kay:

“Keep an eye on Lebanon, where the economy is doing terribly badly, nobody’s investing, businesses are really suffering. And as the economy suffers, so does the Western-backed government… Our stake is that we are backing the Western-backed government, Iran is backing Hezbollah, and as the economy declines, Hezbollah does better — another front in that war.”

    MICHAEL DUFFY, TIME MAGAZINE:
“You can go to the website of every presidential candidate we’ve been talking about and click a box and donate $2300 — that’s the maximum you can give in a campaign. Except one candidate: Hillary Clinton. You can click [and donate] $4600 on her website because she’s already raising money for the general election.”

    ELISABETH BUMILLER, NEW YORK TIMES:
“I was City Hall bureau chief for the New York Times when Rudy Giuliani was running against Hillary Clinton, and there are an awful lot of Republicans in New York City and New York state who think that the real reason he dropped out of that race was not his prostate cancer, but the fact that he was significantly behind Hillary when he dropped out. And there’s a lot of Republicans in New York right now who have a lot of doubts about his ability to win the primaries and the election — a lot of Republicans.”

    DAVID IGNATIUS, WASHINGTON POST:
“Iranian officials are whispering to Europeans that maybe, maybe, maybe Iran might be ready to come back and talk about its nuclear program.”
