PowerA looks to disrupt the handheld console market with Android powered MOGA

Gaming peripheral company PowerA today announced its MOGA Android gaming add-on device will be available for sale in stores and at online retailers in the U.S. on Oct. 21, 2012. The device will cost $49.99.

Similar in appearance to a conventional game console controller, the MOGA comes equipped with a fold out stand that allows players to turn their Android smartphone into a handheld gaming system — similar to a Nintendo 3DS or a PlayStation Vita, but for a fraction of the retail price of a conventional handheld system.
