Post profit falls 12.6%

Washington Post Co. turned in a second-quarter profit Friday that was 12.6% lower than last year’s, pulled down by taxes. For the quarter that ended July 1, the publishing giant said it made $68.8 million, of $7.19 a share, compared with last year’s profit of $78.7 million, or $8.17 a share.
