Post-Gazette Seeks 25 Percent Wage Cuts
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette wants “significant” wage concessions for its new contract, the Tribune-Review reported Saturday. This is the understatement of the year, apparently, as paper management is asking the union-covered employees to take a 25 percent pay cut in the first year of the contract and 10 percent in the second year.
The guild represents about 185 editorial and advertising employees; the current contract, which was approved in 2007, expires in March 2010.
