From an internal WaPo announcement by “Glad I’m Not Bill Keller Today” Len Downie, obtained by FishbowlDC:
At the beginning of March we will launch an arts and entertainment listings desk responsible for creating and publishing all information in The Post about performances, exhibits and other events in the Washington area.
The desk will supply the variety of listings that appear in Weekend, Sunday Source and Style on the Go, as well as “Best Bets” that appear in some of the Extras. It will enable us to expand Style on the Go to six days a week; for the first time readers will find listings of things to do every day in The Post. The desk will work with washingtonpost.com to deepen our efforts to produce arts and entertainment listings and selected guidance in print and online.
The listing desk will be supervised by Tracy Grant in her role as Weekend editor. It will draw on talent from several other staffs. Lavanya Ramanathan, who has made Style on the Go such a success, will bring her energy and creativity. Justin Rude, who has brought verve to Sunday Source’s listings, will expand his role and help us expand the use of Event Tracker, the database that will provide a common source for all a & e listings in The Post. Barry Barriere, Weekend’s encyclopedic chronicler of events, will also join the desk. In a novel arrangement, we will draw on part-time assistance from contributors to Express’s attractive and useful Weekend Pass, especially in coverage of the area’s vibrant clubs scene.
