Facebook has been doing some poking around the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, filing for trademarks for Poke, Facebook Poke, and the logo for its new Poke iPhone application.
The Next Web reported that Facebook filed for the three trademarks Dec. 21, adding that the social network applied for a trademark for Poke in 2006, covering its poke feature, but it allowed the trademark to lapse this past July.
