Pinterest today announced a new feature for Buyable Pins: the ability to send price drop notifications. The company this week also celebrated a key milestone, as 1 million businesses are now setting up shop in Pinterest.
If you’ve saved a Buyable Pin and that product has dropped in price, you’ll receive a notification. According to Pinterest, there are more than 1 million Buyable Pins with reduced prices every day.
Pinterest talked more about Buyable Pins in an email to SocialTimes:
As a catalog of ideas, our mission is to help people discover and do things they love in their everyday lives. Millions of people use Pinterest to discover new products (87 percent of active Pinners use Pinterest to help them decide what to purchase), and Buyable Pins make it easier to buy products you love right in the Pinterest app from +10K brands like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Kate Spade and Moorea Seal. Buyable Pins are available on iOS and Android, and have a blue “Buy it” button and price tag. You can shop from more than 60 million Buyable Pins in your home feed, search results and in the Pinterest Shop.
Those businesses launching the Buyable Pins are in great company. Pinterest announced this week that 1 million businesses are on the site.
Pinterest’s Tim Kendall blogged about the milestone and highlighted some success stories:
It’s the end of the year, and we just want to say thanks to the more than 1 million businesses worldwide who give our Pinners great ideas they can try in their lives every day.
Over the last year, the number of businesses on Pinterest every month has grown rapidly. We’re proud of that growth, and we especially loved hearing stories about how Pinterest helped grow your business this year.
