UPDATED: Thumbnail Photo Previews Appearing All Over Facebook

Thumbnail images are popping up in new places throughout Facebook, as they have begun showing up on page administrators’ admin panels, users’ notifications, and when users roll their cursors over the names of people tagged in photos.

Thumbnail images are popping up in new places throughout Facebook, as they have begun showing up on page administrators’ admin panels, users’ notifications, and when users roll their cursors over the names of people tagged in photos.

Matteo Gamba of Wimdu shared the screen shot below Monday, which features previews of photos on the page that were commented on within the page’s admin panel. The thumbnail previews appear under the notifications portion of the admin panel.

Later Monday, Blink Vice President of Media Eti Suruzon pointed out that similar thumbnail preview photos are showing up in users’ notifications, as well:

Tuesday morning, Suruzon followed up with the screen shot below, illustrating yet more thumbnails showing up when users hover over the names of other users who are tagged in photos.
