News has been on fire lately. Watching the news cycle has been like watching the end of a Hollywood movie, with evil mass murderers being shot down by covert operations and happy young couples finally getting married.
By far the best part of last weekend’s news cycle was that there was something for everyone. While Osama bin Laden‘s death boosed circulation for hard news outlets, the Royal Wedding was bringing entertainment news outlets back to pre-recession figures.
WWD reports that People magazine released a special issue on Monday (four days ahead of schedule) with 102 ad pages, which is the most advertising to run in the magazine since 2007. Wholesale partners have requested more than 15,000 custom royal wedding display bins nationwide.
Let’s keep this up, shall we? What’s planned for next weekend?
