The Hill offers today an inside look at the mysterious green rooms scattered around Washington, D.C., that hold capital pundits prior to their talking head segments.
The verdict? D.C.’s green rooms are the ugly stepchildren of the better-suited ones in New York and Hollywood. Normally guests have to make do with coffee and bagels. The one exception appears to be Sunday morning shows, which even sometimes include a cook for “hot items” in the green room.
That said, Georgia Rep. Jack Kingston makes the point that most guests don’t care what they eat BEFORE they go on the show: “I don’t think many people eat food in green rooms…. You don’t want to endanger yourself with salsa on the tie.”
If no one partakes, why is it that so many guests walking off the set at Meet the Press seem to have egg on their face?
