PBS NewsHour Debate Garners 8.03 Million Viewers

When PBS and CNN join forces...

Last night’s PBS NewsHour Democratic debate, moderated by Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff, reached 8.03 million viewers, according to Nielsen Fast National data.

This audience included those watching on PBS and on CNN, which had entered into an arrangement with PBS to simulcast the debate.

It was a move done in part to increase the audience for the debates, and it looks like that mission was successful, especially when compared against the previous Democratic debate on MSNBC, which reached 4.49 million viewers.

Breaking it down by network, CNN had slightly more viewers than PBS, 4.1 million to 3.9 million, but PBS had more viewers in the A25-54 demo, 1.2 million to CNN’s 1.1 million.
