PayPal Targets Amazon with Adaptive Payments

PayPalLogo.jpgTechCrunch obtained a confidential document that details PayPal’s new Adaptive Payments systems, which will give developers full access to PayPal’s features.

According to TechCrunch, Adaptive Payments contains almost the same functionality as Amazon’s Flexible Payments Service.

Adaptive Payments will also allow what PayPal called “Chained Payments,” which will permit developers to create applications that enable single payments to be sent to a primary receiver, who may keep part of the payment and pay other, secondary receivers with the remainder of the funds, TechCrunch reported.

Parallel Payments, another Adaptive Payments feature, will allow senders to send a single payment to multiple receivers.
