Paul McGonagle Named VP, News Director of WTTG

016f29bPatrick Paolini, the VP and GM of WTTG, DC’s local FOX affiliate, has named Paul McGonagle the station’s new VP and news director. In this role, McGonagle will oversee the station’s editorial, business, and administrative functions, according to a WTTG press release.

McGonagle most recently held the same title at Boston’s WFXT (FOX), and prior to that was WFXT’s assistant news director. He has also worked at WJAR (NBC) in Providence, RI; KGAN (CBS) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and WNNE (NBC) in Burlington, Vt.

“Paul’s depth of local news experience in a top market, as well as his impressive tenure with FOX made him the ideal choice,” said Paolini. “He is the right leader to continue the momentum we have started here and take FOX 5 in an exciting, new direction.”

McGonagle replaces Dana Hahn, who’s recently been named VP and news director of KTVU (FOX) in San Francisco. McGonagle starts with WTTG today, Election Day.
