There’s something missing in an image of the April 2017 Harper’s Bazaar cover shared this week on Instagram by Paris Jackson.
When the magazine hit newsstands today, it features–below the words Paris Jackson–the cover line “I was perfect in my dad’s eyes.” But those words were whited-out on Instagram by both cover girl Jackson and the magazine itself.
All because of a series of tweets subsequently deleted by Jackson, in which she accused the magazine of reneging on a promise to not headline-highlight the memory of late father Michael. She said it is the fourth or fifth time this sort of thing has happened with a media outlet.
All in all, a bit of a rough welcome for executive editor Christopher Tennant, who started at Harper’s Bazaar Monday. Tennant came over from Man of the World magazine, where he was editor in chief and creative director. His extensive resume also includes stints as a contributing editor at Vanity Fair and Playboy, executive editor of The Daily Front Row and co-founder of Radar/Radar Online.
The April 2017 Harper’s Bazaar cover story was penned by Candace Bushnell.
