Apparently, the LAT virtual pullout of Orange County has made OC Register publisher N. Christian Anderson III sad. How else to explain his insistence on creating the OC Post, a second newspaper with the exact same coverage area?
This manufactured competition reminds us of when we were seven, and we wanted a sibling so bad that we created an imaginary friend.
Except Anderson’s imaginary friend has a publisher, a managing editor and a subscription rate ($19.99 a year).
“A lot of people have said we’re absolutely stark-raving crazy to start a new daily newspaper,” he said. “But it’s part of our starategy to reach more audiences.”
Sources tell FBLA that our imaginary friend has signed up to be one of the first subcribers.
