Apparently, the LAT virtual pullout of Orange County has made OC Register publisher N. Christian Anderson III sad. How else to explain his insistence on creating the OC Post, a second newspaper with the exact same coverage area?
This manufactured competition reminds us of when we were seven, and we wanted a sibling so bad that we created an imaginary friend.
Except Anderson’s imaginary friend has a publisher, a managing editor and a subscription rate ($19.99 a year).
“A lot of people have said we’re absolutely stark-raving crazy to start a new daily newspaper,” he said.
