Online Buzz Lifts 'Conchords'

LOS ANGELES In an encouraging sign for the upcoming second season of HBO’s offbeat comedy Flight of the Conchords, the premiere episode has raked in some 250,000 streams in its first 10 days on FunnyOrDie.

That is in addition to the tens of thousands of views on HBO.com, which also showcases the season opener.

Not too bad for a show that drew 950,000 viewers for its first-season finale. And way better than the 100,000 views the first season premiere scored on MySpace last year.

The promotional streaming of Conchords on FunnyOrDie marks the first such collaboration between the pay cable network and Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s comedy Web site after HBO took an ownership stake in the Internet venture in June.
