Observer Debuts Web-Traffic Bonus Pool
The New York Observer last Wednesday distributed a memo to staff members announcing the paper had put together a pool of bonus cash to encourage writers to bolster the newspaper’s Web traffic, according to a report by The Awl.
A three-month trial period for the bonus program begins immediately. First and second prizes are awarded to Observer writers in the following categories: page views, number of posts, new Twitter followers, number of comments and external pickups.
