NYT's After Deadline Blog Goes After Campaign Clichés

Firestorm is having a moment, leading to pushback.

You never know whether reading the latest installment of New York Times’ After Deadline blog, the paper’s casual chronicle of journalistic style and usage errors, will leave you in a triumphal state of schadenfreude or in copy-land shame.

Just in time for the first Democratic primary debate on CNN tonight, After Deadline writer Philip Corbett goes after campaign trail clichés in his latest post, taking on “firestorm,” “having a moment” and “pushback.”

This blog has been guilty of using at least one of those.
