Nymag.com Launches “The Cut”
New Fashion, Shopping and Beauty Blog to Kick off Fashion Week Coverage
Nymag.com, the Website of New York magazine, announces The Cut (http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/), a new fashion, shopping, and beauty blog, to kick off its massive coverage of New York Fashion Week. The Cut will build on the success of the site’s award-winning Show & Talk blog and be edited by Amy Odell. Along with Odell, regular nymag.com correspondents the Fug Girls and New York magazine fashion director Harriet Mays Powell and fashion editor (and Look Book author) Amy Larocca will contribute content.
The Cut is being launched as a year-around blog, with round-the-clock updates during Fashion Week, followed by a soft launch through February. Ultimately users can expect five to ten posts per day on the latest trends, fashion news, industry gossip, party reports, and much more.
Other highlights of this Fashion Week at nymag.com include:
Hideous/Fabulous Runway Rankings – live updates of the top 100 most fabulous and most hideous looks from the collections, as voted by nymag.com users.
Model Manual – even more models (including male models!) with over 300 model profiles, including biographical information (birthday, hometown, agency, romantic history, etc.), a curated mix of photos both on and off the runway, and career highlights with links to video. The profiles are the most comprehensive resource for information about models available on the internet.
Runway Galleries – check out all the looks with redesigned, more user-friendly slideshows featuring bigger images.
Fashion Week Video – complete video coverage of the New York and the European shows, plus special Fashion Week Video Look Books.
The Cut editor Amy Odell has previously worked as a party reporter for New York magazine and nymag.com and an assistant editor at the online magazine Jewcy.
