NY1 Promotes Dan Jacobson to News Director
Dan Jacobson, veteran NY1 manager, has been promoted to news director effectively immediately. Jacobson was named assistant news director in 2003.
The announcement was made last night by Bernie Han, Time Warner Cable’s VP of News and Programming. Han had been the station’s news director before assuming her new role last year.
During his long tenure at NY1, Jacobson was the cable channel’s first planning editor. From there, he moved on to political producer and launched Road to City Hall, which eventually was renamed Inside City Hall.
Jacobson also received a promotion to executive producer of politics and managing editor.
