The New York Times has named James Poniewozik its chief TV critic. He comes to the paper from Time, where he served as TV critic for more than a decade.
“Jim has been the television critic at Time for 16 years, where he has become one of the most prominent voices analyzing the modern TV revolution today,” wrote Times culture editor Danielle Mattoon, in a note to staffers. “He writes with authority, a deep love for the medium, and sentences that spark delight.”
Poniewozik’s appointment is effective September 8.
