The New York Times has named Nancy Gauss executive director of video. She most recently served as deputy video editor.
Gauss first joined the Times in 2008 as a senior multimedia producer. She left to join CNN for a brief stint in 2012, then rejoined the Times in 2013.
“Nancy has been an essential part of the leadership team formulating a strategy and structure to tackle the areas we hope to excel in: news, enterprise, shows, off-platform and partnerships,” wrote Times senior vp of video Alex MacCallum, in a memo.
