The New York Daily News launched a national social networking site for small business, the paper said today.
The Daily News’ partner SaleSpider.com powers SmallBiz–a national network of 500,000 small businesses. Users can download sales leads, information about government grants and access other tools.
“Our new Web partnership makes the Daily News even more vital for the army of small business entrepreneurs across the city,” Martin Dunn, editor in chief of the Daily News, said in a statement.
Every member of SmallBiz can join the Google AdSense program that displays relevant ads on profile pages, forums and messages. The member earns money when people click on the ads.
“By providing an active community and business support system, it is our goal to offer a sustainable service to help them cope with these difficult economic times and help them build their future,” Marc Kramer, CEO of the Daily News, said in a statement about small business owners.
