Nordstrom went big on Instagram to promote its Anniversary Sale—as in, 13,398 square feet big.
The retailer created a 13,398-square-foot multi-layered art installation on the roof of its flagship store in Seattle, which included a 25-foot-long dress hanger.
Nordstrom said it will donate the installation materials to Seattle Goodwill once the sale is over, so they can be made into reusable shopping bags.
Instagram brand development lead Michael Hondorp said in an Instagram for Business blog post:
We’re happy to see Nordstrom embracing Instagram as a core component of its Anniversary Sale campaign. From leveraging Instagram as a media channel to interacting with the Instagram community via InstaMeets, Nordstrom has found unique ways to use Instagram to drive store traffic and buzz around their biggest event of the season.
