Nokia to Lay Off About 615

Nokia announced some “organizational” changes in the company, which appear to be mostly on the order of employee firings.

The company said in a statement that they’ll be laying off about 450 in the Markets unit and about 130 at the Nokia Research Center. They’ll also be closing down the Turku site in Finland and relocate the 220 employees there to Salo. Finally, the company plans to make some “smaller workforce adjustments in global process operations” that will “affect” about 35 people.
