In an interesting partnership, people that purchase the Blackberry Playbook tablet by RIM will have two EA games preloaded on the machine. The first time you turn on your Playbook, you can launch into Tetris. Does this mean there won’t be any Brickbreaker?
This is an interesting and wise move by RIM, as they need to highlight that the upcoming Playbook has the innovative and consumer-friendly features to be an alternative to the iPad. Early reports on the Playbook have praised the device’s ability to multi-task and it’s great form factor and speedy operating system, but recent RIM releases have suffered from clunky user experiences.
As we get more information on the social and gaming aspects of the Playbook, we’ll let you know. The release date on the Playbook isn’t known yet, but the games will be showing at RIM’s booth during the Mobile World Congress conference in Barcelona on February 14th.
