The Washington, D.C., Chapter of the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association is offering a fellowship to help a student or beginning journalist attend NLGJA’s 2007 National Convention from August 30 – September 2, 2007 at the Westin Horton Plaza in San Diego, CA.
The fellowship offers a successful applicant the convention registration, air transportation and hotel room. The goal is to help a fledgling journalist benefit from the workshops and networking opportunities at NLGJA’s annual convention.
Applicants must be:
* College juniors, seniors, graduate students, interns or journalists in the first year of professional work who live or attend school in Washington D.C., Maryland or Virginia.
* Dedicated to building a career as a print, online, TV or radio journalist.
* Able to get time off from work or school to attend and cover incidental expenses.
* NLGJA members. New members can register at www.nlgja.org. Student memberships are $20.
