Nielsen Social Content Ratings, Week of July 17: Game of Thrones Stays Strong

British Open coverage on Golf Channel and NBC paced the sports chart

The North remembers: Sunday night’s episode of Game of Thrones on HBO froze out the competition in the Nielsen Social Content Ratings for the week.

The drama series’ second episode of the season totaled 1.243 million interactions across Facebook and Twitter, nearly double the 635,000 tallied by Phelps vs. Shark: Great Gold vs. Great White on Discovery Channel.

Disney’s Descendants 2 on Disney Channel came in third, at 415,000 interactions across the two social networks.

On the sports side, the final round of the 2017 Open Championship on Golf Channel and NBC drove and putted its way to 433,000 total interactions across Facebook and Twitter.
