Nick Launches Mobile Web Site

NEW YORK Parents have a new option for short-term babysitting. Nickelodeon has launched its first mobile Web site — wap.Nick.com — one of three sites being rolled out by the Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group.

The new mobile version of Nick.com, like its Web forerunner, will be heavy on games, ranging from classics like Tic-Tac-Toe and Hangman as well as Nickelodeon-branded fare like Avatar: The Last Airbender game and a SpongeBob SquarePants personality quiz.

In addition, Nickelodeon plans to launch various mobile tie-ins to the network’s programming, including mini-sites centered on the 2008 Kids’ Choice Awards and an upcoming SpongeBob movie.

Also on the youth front, Nickelodeon is launching a mobile offshoot of its teen network The N sometime in the second quarter.
