News site TheWrap announced yesterday that it has hired Newsweek media reporter Johnnie Roberts as editor at large.
“We are thrilled that Johnnie has selected TheWrap his home as he makes the transition into digital journalism,” said TheWrap.com Editor-in-Chief Sharon Waxman in a statement. “We all look forward to his insights about the rapidly changing entertainment landscape. Adding his voice to our editorial team is part of our core mission of being the most essential read for entertainment and media professionals.”
News of Roberts’ departure for TheWrap follows Newsweek projects editor Mark Coatney’s announcement that he would be leaving the magazine for social-blogging site Tumblr. While at Newsweek, Coatney curated the magazine’s popular Tumblr blog.
Clarification: An alert reader points out that Johnnie Roberts left Newsweek several months ago, and so he did not, strictly speaking, leave Newsweek for TheWrap.
