Newsweek Peddles Subscriptions on LivingSocial.com

In August of last year, WaPo sold several thousand new subscriptions in a matter of hours through group buying site, Groupon.  A few months later, TNR followed in The Post‘s  footsteps and slashed their subscription costs by 75% via the same discount site. Not nearly as fruitful for TNR, the 24-hour sale boosted sales by only 244 subscriptions.

Today Newsweek is giving group buying a whirl on LivingSocial.com, a Groupon competitor.   The publication is peddling one-year subscriptions for only $17.00.  With 21 hours still on the clock, the magazine has already racked up 384 new subscribers.  Check it out here.
