Newsweek Names New Editor As Old One Moves To Digital

As was previously reported, Newsweek today named Jon Meacham [above, right] as its new editor, replacing Mark Whitaker, who becomes VP and editor-in-chief of new ventures at Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive, the digital division of the Washington Post Company. Whitaker will be charged with developing new Web sites, according to the company — not quite the kick upstairs magazine companies are known to employ.
