Newsweek Continues to See Losses While Advertising Grows for Most Magazines

FishbowlNY reported that magazine ad pages were up almost three percent compared to the first quarter of 2010. Now check out the winners and losers!

Time had a 3 percent increase in ad pages. The Economist and The New Yorker rose about 4 percent. Ad pages at The Week increased 36 percent in the first quarter, and Bloomberg Businessweek went up 49 percent. Wow! Great news all around!

Except for Newsweek. The New York Times reports that the number of advertising pages in Newsweek fell 31 percent compared with the same three months last year.

People are watching Newsweek closer than ever after it was taken over by Tina Brown.
