Newsstand Sales Drop for Celebrity Mags

Alert the Kardashians.

Famous faces are no longer enough to sell magazines. According to the New York Post, many celebrity titles saw newsstand sales drop during the six month period ending Dec. 31.

Us Weekly was hit the hardest, with sales dropping 18 percent to a mere 312,089 copies sold. Two Bauer Publications—In Touch and Life & Style—also had double digit drops at 14.2 percent and 10.5 percent, respectively.

Time Inc’s People was down 9.5 percent, while OK! declined 3.5 percent and Star dropped two percent.
