Newseum Presents "Inside Media: Political Cartoons"
Stephen Hess and Sandy Northrop will present their new book “American Political Cartoons: The Evolution of a National Identity, 1754-2010” as part of the Newseum’s Inside Media series this weekend. Chronicling the nation’s highs and lows, the book’s extensive collection of illustrations span the entire history of American political cartooning.
At the event, Hess and Northrop will highlight several of the 345 illustrations from the book and discuss how political cartoonists mirrored the issues of their time and wielded the power to shape public opinion.
