News Corp has no plans to pull its television shows from iTunes like NBC Universal, but echoed the media industry’s calls for Apple to offer more flexible pricing, a top executive said in a Reuters interview on Tuesday.
The article said that many industry observers expected other studios to follow NBC Universal’s iTunes Store pull-out. At the time, NBC Universal wanted more flexible pricing and packaging options of its media from Apple.
Here’s the money quote: “Right now we have a perfectly good relationship with Apple,” Peter Chernin, News Corp’s president and chief operating officer, told Reuters. “But let me say this, we’re the ones who should determine what the fair price for our product is, not Apple.”
