The New Yorker Tills the Land of Putin

We wrote recently about Bloomberg putting Eustace Tilley in the ring with President Trump. For the March 6 issue of The New Yorker, artist Barry Blitt has explored a similar theme to frame the cover story by Evan Osnos, David Remnick and Joshua Yaffa.

This riff on The New Yorker’s first cover in 1925, by Rea Irvin, is another memorable Trump-inspired one for Blitt. For the Jan. 25, 2017 issue, he placed the 45th President in a supermarket-style toddler ride.

Blitt is the artist who claimed ASME’s first ever “Cover of the Year” award back in 2006, for a Sept.
