Barry Surman, former managing director of business development at the New York Times, has made the unlikely switch to the Daily News.

After 11 years at The New York Times, I have accepted the position of vice president, new business and strategic development. I’m very excited to be facing new challenges in a new environment, and look forward to seeing you here in the near future.
