'New York' to Hike Cover Price

Weekly to go up to $5.99

Like most things in the city, New York magazine is about to get more expensive again. The Adam Moss-edited weekly is hiking its cover price by 20 percent to $5.99 with the Dec. 26 issue.

A rep for the magazine said it decided to make the move after raising the price on some recent issues and finding sales remained steady.

The increase comes as New York’s single copy sales have dropped more than the industry average, by 21 percent to 14,573 in the first half of 2011, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations.
