New Hires in Mobile: GameLoft, Rovio and Tapjoy

Hiring in the mobile apps sector was up this week, with 20 new hires spread out across 11 companies. Based on information from LinkedIn and other sources, Gameloft and GREE led this week with three hires each, but while hiring was up, there was only one high profile move - Tapjoy added a former Yahoo vice president to its team, bringing on Jim Jones as the new vice president and general manager of sales. Gameloft Tony Joseph Batal, iOS Game Programmer - Gameloft starts our roundup with three moves. First up is Batal, who was formerly the interactive media/web development team leader at WonderEight. Diego Martín González, Subscription Services Dev - Next up is González, who comes from 7 Creativos, where he was a project leader. Candice de Place, Game Producer Manager - iPhone Freemium - Finally de Place, who moves up from her previous position as game producer manager HD+. GREE International Nicole Marlin, Senior Accountant - Three new hires as well this week at GREE. The company brings aboard Marlin, who comes from PwC, where she was an experienced associate. Mason Wong, Senior Manager, Recruiting - Wong was formerly the global staffing manager at Model N Inc. Tali Fischer, Senior PR Manager - And finally Fischer, who who makes the move from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment where she was PR manager. InMobi Howard Lam, Senior Campaign Manager - InMobi makes our roundup again with two new hires. Lam comes from Kosmix, where he was a campaign manager. Aleksandra B Varadarajan, Business Development and Partner Management Intern - Also new at InMobi is Varadarajan, who was formerly the communications manager at PMI Silicon Valley Chapter. Natural Motion Jeroen Van Den Bosch, Product Manager - After some busy recruitment, Natural Motion makes our roundup with two new hires. Van Den Bosch was previously a game designer and level designer at Larian Studios. Neil Parkinson, Animator - Also joining Natural Motion is Parkinson, who moves his position at Electronic Arts. OpenFeint Zachary Drake, Senior Sales Engineer - OpenFeint makes our roundup this week with a promotion. Drake was formerly a game integration engineer at the company. Pocket Gems Megan Schlegel, Senior Artist - Pocket Gems add Schlegel to the team. She was previously a contract designer at IGT. Rovio Tan Miaoqing, Technology Programmer - A single new face at Rovio this week as well. Miaoqing comes from Nokia, where he was senior software engineer. Storm8 Gloria Foster, Junior 2D Artist - Storm8 brings aboard Foster from ICES Education, where she was the art director. Tapjoy Jim Jones, Vice President and General Manager of Sales - This week’s highest profile hire easily goes to Tapjoy with their announcement that Jones, formerly America’s Regional Vice President at Yahoo would be joining the company as the new vice president and general manager of sales. Maria Tosetti, Ad Ops - Tosetti also joins the mobile advertising company.
