It is not often that I find myself compelled to comment on a TV commercial. Apple’s “I’m a PC” commercial series was one exception. Some of the Jack in a Box commercials also kept me watching through the entire commercial and then the ultimate compliment to a commercial, advising other people to watch the commercial too. Verizon’s commercials for the original Motorola Droid in the Fall and Winter of 2009 also fell into this category of “must watch” TV commercials. The first commercial I’ve seen for the just released Motorola Droid X indicates that the PR team has another series of potentially stunning commercials set for TV screens across the U.S.
A co-worker in the office got his Droid X yesterday. And, I have to say that it looks like a good Android phone with a gigantic screen that doesn’t give an inch (literally) to the HTC EVO 4G. I’m not planning to switch to the Droid X myself, however. I’m waiting for Android 3.0 based phones to be released later this year before moving on from my Droid and Nexus One.
