Endless Ideas, makers of the Bebook line of eReaders and tablet, has just launched a new and improved version of the Bebook Club eBook reader.
The Bebook Club S has all the same great software features as the original Club, only it’s running on significantly improved hardware. The Club S has the latest gen Pearl E-ink screen. It also has a faster CPU as well as a number of subtle tweaks to the circuitry that should double battery life and improve general responsiveness.
To be honest, this is a rather expensive eReader for the specs. Unlike its close cousin, the Bebook One, the Club does not have Wifi or a touchscreen. The current model retails at $179, which is more than the Kindle, Nook, or Kobo eReader.
But the Club does have one feature that its mainstream competitors lack, and that is broad format support. The Club can read more eBook formats than the Kindle, Nook, and Kobo combined, including Epub, PDF, .doc, .txt, .HTML, .djvu, .chm, .fb2, and Mobipocket.
The Club S will be released later this fall.
